Will Teflon continue to change people's lives in the future?
Over the years some people have risen concerns about the possible dangers of Teflon and the chemicals used to make it as DuPont’s original production process used a toxic chemical known as PFOA . However as alternatives are now available and the use of this chemical is being phased out, the future of Teflon looks bright. Furthermore, scientists and medical engineers are currently looking at combining silicon and Teflon together in order to make medical procedures such internal stapling more effective.
New uses are still being found for Teflon, and its utility is being extended by combining it with other chemicals. With it being so widely used and so versatile Teflon is likely to stay around for many more years to come.
